Transforming Business for Good: Shared Purpose, Shared Responsibility

As the AMICE Congress convenes in the heart of Trinity Business School Dublin, we open with a keynote that reflects a common ambition: putting purpose and sustainability at the centre of economic life. Whether through mutual insurance or business education, we are united by a belief that long-term value, resilience and accountability must shape the future of business.

This session will examine how organisations embed sustainability into strategy, governance and culture, and why this matters now more than ever. We will reflect on the role of leadership in times of systemic disruption and explain how Trinity’s mission to “Transform Business for Good” not only aligns with but also challenges the mutual model to deliver even greater societal value.

Key themes:

  • The challenge of building a sustainable future for business and society – and how values-based leadership is driving institutional change
  • The intersection of business innovation, data analytics and purpose-driven strategy
  • Creating systems that support resilience – from insurance to education to policymaking

Europe’s Insurance Framework: Regulation, Resilience and Relevance

As the pace of regulatory change accelerates, Europe's insurance sector stands at a critical junction. Current legislative initiatives reflect a broader agenda: to simplify, harmonise and future-proof the Single Market while strengthening trust, resilience and long-term investment.

In this keynote, delegates will hear about EIOPA’s perspectives on the changing European insurance framework – what is driving the reform agenda and how the regulatory landscape is evolving.

The keynote will also reflect on the role of mutual and cooperative insurers within this framework, highlighting their contribution to Europe’s long-term strength, public trust and market diversity, and the importance of proportionality, transparency and supervisory consistency in supporting a resilient and inclusive market.

Looking ahead, the address will offer insights into EIOPA’s 2030 strategy and the tools it is developing to support a stable, sustainable and citizen-focused insurance sector, across all business models and market sizes.

Key themes:

  • How simplifications, competitiveness and regulatory reform are reshaping Europe’s insurance landscape
  • Aligning capital, supervision and public trust in a high-change environment
  • The role of mutuals in driving long-term investment, protection and citizen confidence
  • Why trust, proportionality and consistent supervision are vital to the Single Market
  • EIOPA’s priorities to 2030: transparency, data, inclusion and forward-looking resilience
